Victor Gonzalez is the project manager for Alianza's Youth Organizing Council (YO-C!) and the Positive School Climate campaign. While at Alianza, Victor has increased youth and resident influence in decision-making spaces in the Coachella Valley.
Victor grew up in the St. Anthony trailer park in Mecca, and while in high school, he worked on the grape and lemon harvest. The love for his family, friends, and partner motivated him to graduate from Desert Mirage High School in 2010 and go on to obtain a dual bachelor's degree in politics and feminist studies from UC Santa Cruz in 2014. Victor has sought to understand the political systems that impact his community through his internships in federal and state legislative offices. He understands that community leadership development is an integral piece in shaping our surroundings. Tools such as Coaching for Transformation and his current pursuit of a Masters in Education give Victor additional skills to intentionally engage with community members to act on their vision.
